Andre the Giant (2018) – Review

Considered by many as one of the finest wrestling documentaries ever produced, this film delves into the life and career of professional wrestler, Andre the Giant (Andre Roussimoff), who gained popularity and stardom in the 1980’s, performing in the famous, squared circle. This documentary contains footage spanning over several decades, along with recent and up to date interviews with the people that knew the man himself. Originally released in 2018, this is a very striking and at times emotional tale that is a must watch for any wrestling enthusiast out there.

Ride or Die (2021) – Review

Rei Nagasawa (Kiko Mizuhara) is a woman that finds herself murdering the abusive husband of another woman that she’s been in love with for over ten years – Nanae Shinoda (Honami Sato). While on the run together after the murder, the pair rekindle their feelings and try to enjoy the last moments they have together, before their freedom is ultimately taken from them. An at times striking drama, filmed and captured in Japan, that has just been released to Netflix.

Young Guns 1 (1988) – Review

During the late 1800’s, John Tunstall (Terence Stamp) is a successful rancher that picks up young gunmen from the dark depths of despair and has them work on his large ranch, while also attempting to coach them back into becoming everyday citizens. When, however, he his gunned down by a rival rancher, all hell breaks loose, and the young men, spearheaded by Billy the Kid (Emilio Estevez), become deputies in an attempt to avenge the murder of their friend and mentor. An action-packed western, released in 1988, that is more than worth a watch.

For a Few Dollars More (1965) – Review

Manco (Clint Eastwood) and Douglas Mortimer (Lee Van Cleef) are two highly skilled bounty hunters that decide to forge a partnership to take down not only a western outlaw on the run, but his entire posse, to claim the exceptionally large reward on offer. During the mission, however, one of the two bounty hunters showcases his true intentions and meaning for this dangerous chase. Another classic Clint Eastwood western that has received a lot of praise since its original release in 1965.
